Sir Richard Bishop


Another one of the bigger names amongst instrumental guitarists these days is Sir Richard Bishop of the Sun City Girls. He has several solo albums to his credit, and all of them are mesmerizing. He brings more of an Eastern influence to his music than some of the other "primitive" guitarists. While some of the Sun City Girls recordings are pretty out there, and at times far from melodic, the same cannot be said of his solo work. Here is an example from his Improvika album:
