While not as well known as Blind Willie Johnson, Rev. Edward W. Clayborn was another big name amongst the Guitar Evangelists who recorded extensively in the late '20s and '30s. Clayborn was yet another master of the slide guitar, and here, you can hear it for yourself:

I have this album. It's fantastic. He helped develop so many techniques we take for granted now. Listening to it in its historical perspective, one can see how advanced it was.
